Thanks for attending the 4th Mobile Developer After-Work in Vienna! We’re happy to say that every single event has been a tremendous success so far – this time, we were actually sold out within three days and then luckily managed to secure additional funding to host more attendees.

With the combined sponsoring of Microsoft and Tieto, we were able to host the event in a great location at the Microsoft office, as well as enjoy free food, drinks, coffee and beer – thanks a lot! We hope you enjoyed the sessions and the networking opportunity with fellow developers.

After-Work #5

We’re currently in the early planning phase of the next After-Work and have a tentative schedule. If you know a venue or a sponsor for food and drinks, please let us know!

As soon as we can share more details, you will read more at mobility.builders, on Twitter as well as the After-Work mailing list!

Session Slides

During two sessions, expert developers presented topics that were following up on the previous cross platform development event:

  • Cross-Platform Native App & Game Development with Qt 5.3 & V-Play – deploying your apps to Windows Phone, Android, iOS, Windows 8 and Mac OS X with a single code base
    Christian Feldbacher, V-Play
  • HTML5 Apps with the Open Source WinJS Framework
    Rina Ahmed, Microsoft

In addition, the current status of the Open Device Lab Vienna was presented – a great initiative started by Roland Schütz, which allows testing your apps and web sites on a variety of mobile devices for free.

All of the slides are compiled in a single .zip file for easier downloading:

Prices and DVLUP XP for Attendees

We also handed out a price sponsored by Nokia Developer – a battery charger, to the developer with the least amount of battery left in his phone. In this case, the phone was already completely empty, so the additional charge was very welcome!

In addition, Nokia Developer gives away 50 DVLUP XP for every attendee – these points can be redeemed for prices like free phones, gadgets or app promotions. Every attendee will shortly get the code per email!
